LNGSHOT is the first boy group from MORE VISION, the label founded by rapper and businessman Jay Park, and was formed directly by him. Their debut was a success: with the EP "SHOT CALLERS," they gained four million monthly listeners on Spotify. The music video for their single "Moonwalkin'" surpassed 30 million views on YouTube within just one month of release.
RYUL : "We never intended to make it an official release, but the response from our fans was so great that they didn’t leave us a choice. The mixtape was more of a personal project to introduce ourselves to the world. 'SHOT CALLERS' was a project where we all worked together as a team."
On Their Relationship with Jay Park
When asked about their relationship with their boss, the members are full of praise. LOUIS : "He has been an influential figure for us not only as a CEO or artist, but also as a human being."
OHYUL : "We think he saw a little bit of himself in each one of us."
RYUL : "It was easy to align everyone and share the same vision from the start. We balance patience and ambition by staying true to ourselves. This includes remaining humble, hungry, and authentic."
Creative Autonomy and Musical Identity
Creative autonomy is a hallmark of LNGSHOT. WOOJIN explains that this was not a decision made after the group’s formation, but rather something each member already carried even before they met.
"We all made music and created songs individually before we came together, so it was something we all shared even before we met. Luckily, our company gives us creative freedom in our music, and we are able to have a lot of control and participation in our songs."
The direct influence of Jay Park is also evident in the group's professional demeanor.
WOOJIN highlights humility as their core teaching: "It is the biggest lesson we have been taught and one that we are still constantly reminding ourselves to maintain."
Future Ambitions
Looking toward the future, the group’s ambition is global, with one destination in particular on their radar.
RYUL : "Our biggest dream as a group is to continue releasing more music, grow as artists, and eventually perform for our fans around the world, especially in Brazil."
