The group Lngshot has already garnered significant public interest simply for being the first idol group produced by Jay Park. Q&A: Member Ohyul ​

Q. You managed to fit a lot into such a small drawing (on your profile). ​

Ohyul: I tried to capture my usual hairstyle and my thick lips—features that are uniquely mine. I wrote down "running" as a hobby because I’ve been running a lot with our CEO (Jay Park) lately. Of course, I run with the other members, too. ​

Q. I was a bit surprised that you wrote "None" under "Special Remarks/Trivia." ​

Ohyul: I tend to overthink things, so I actually didn't know what to put there. After debating it over and over, I just ended up drawing an "X" through it. ​

Q. It’s surprising that you still have your "attachment blanket" (security blanket).

​Ohyul: I actually have it at the dorm. It’s a fairly large blanket, so I sleep with it. I've had it since I was a kid...

Q. There is also a same-age member, Ryul, but Ohyul is the leader of Lngshot. What kind of leader are you within the team?

Ohyul : To be honest, I wanted to be the leader from the very beginning. Rather than it being simple greed, I had the mindset that I wanted to work harder for Lngshot and make sure we were well-coordinated. During our trainee days, there were many friends, but gradually the number of friends staying with us decreased. Because of that, I practiced while maintaining an even more humble mindset.

Ryul : As a leader, he is an older brother (hyung) who thinks a lot. He has a great heart for making sacrifices for the team, too. He is like family—to me, he is like a real older brother.

Q. You mentioned being into the idea of "becoming a cool person," but specifically, what kind of person do you want to become?

Ohyul: Someone like our CEO. I feel that his ability to protect the people around him is truly cool. It’s ideal to be humble, and even after becoming successful, to protect "one’s people". The CEO is my role model.

Q. The nickname "Kadaif" is quite memorable. You’ve recently earned the trending nickname "Dujjonku".

Ryul: The fans actually gave it to me. I think it’s because of my hairstyle, and as soon as I heard it, I was convinced. It’s fun and I really like it.

Q. Your name is similar to Ohyul’s. Did you ever consider using a stage name?

Ryul: The company didn’t specifically suggest it, and I never really thought about it either. While calling us by our single-character names might be a bit confusing, our names have different meanings and they're both beautiful, so we thought it was best to keep them as they are.

Q. Having "housework" as a hobby is unique. Do you ever cook for the other members?

Ohyul: Ryul used to cook for us back in our early trainee days. He’d make fried rice and various other dishes.

Ryul: To be honest, I don't really have many hobbies. When I get some free time, I often find I have nothing to do. During this past Lunar New Year break, I went home and had fun cooking meals with my parents. I think housework might be the thing I enjoy most lately.

Q. We can really feel your grit in your motto.

Ryul: When you prepare something and show it to others while lacking confidence, it’s a shame because people will think that’s all you’re capable of. I felt that a lot during my time as a trainee. I don't want to have regrets, so I've adopted the mindset of showing everything I’ve got with total confidence until the very end.

Q. You mentioned your "face" as your "stan attractor". Is that a display of confidence in your visuals?

Ryul – It’s a different kind of "face" than that. I have a wide range of facial expressions, and I love making people laugh. I also have a bit of a desire to be funny. So, that’s the "face" I meant—one that's expressive.

Q. You’ve been famous for resembling Eun Ji-won since your debut, haven't you?

Ryul – First of all, I’m so grateful. After I cut my hair short, I heard a lot of people say I looked like Eun Ji-won sunbaenim during his prime. Personally, I can see that our eyebrows look very similar. My aunt, who is a fan of his, even told me that I resemble him.

Q. I understand that you and Ohyul are old friends who spent your trainee days together. What kind of friend is he?

Ohyul – I first met Ryul four years ago. It’s been amazing that we were friends and ended up being able to debut together. Ryul has a calm, cool-headed personality, and he has a great image within the team. He balances the team really well, and his music always surprises me. I truly respect him for that.
